I know one a little something about what a Mom wants for Mother’s Day. You see, I have received the candles, fancy bracelets and even a cat. But what I love most is for the house to be clean, spending time together and gifts they make me. Today, I am sharing with you 2 of my favorites.
My Mom always made me a milk bath when I was a kid. They were a dream! I loved that the warm water smelt like lavender. It was my special thing…perfect for sunburns, when I was sick or maybe because a boy was breaking my heart. Mom was there with this soothing bath. Today, I am going to share her recipe!
Mom’s Lavender Milk Bath
1 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
1/2 baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup epsom salts
2 tablespoon dried lavender buds
13 drops lavender essential oil
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon soap sparkles (optional)
In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients. Mix well together and store in an airtight container. When you run a bath add 1/4 cup. Soak and enjoy!
Lavender Soap
1 pound goat milk soap base
10-12 drops lavender essential oil
1 tablespoon dried lavender buds
purple soap dye
Melt the soap base in small saucepan or in the microwave. Add in the lavender essential oil and buds. Mix together. Add purple soap dye to your desired color. Pour the warm soap into soap molds. Allow the soap to sit for 2 hours to harden. Store in an airtight container until you are ready to use.
