What a great weekend! I went to my girlfriend’s lake house at Lake Texoma situated around quaint small towns. The weekend was full of nothing but rest and relaxation. We took our kids with us and they spent the time hiking, exploreing a creek bed and shooting paint guns.
I loved that this quiet place made me really THINK about peace. My “happy place” has always been in Florida sitting on the beach. My friend’s favorite place is the lake with its easy-going quiet days. For others their way of relaxing is riding a motorcycle or painting beautiful landscapes. Each of us has a unique place that helps us to relax and recharge.
Last year during a trip to Florida I found myself searching my heart for what God had planned for me. I really wanted to know my purpose. When I arrived home I shared my thoughts with my bible study group and asked them to please pray that God would give me clarity and a definite path towards using my gift of cooking.
Clearly the message He gave me came through loud and clear!
During that time I began blogging and journaling. I have found that writing my thoughts down is crucial to organizing my thoughts. There is something cathartic about putting your thoughts, dreams, questions, and prayers down on paper. Once there they are truly yours and its no longer just a fleeting thought rolling around in your head.
If you’re anything like me a journal with structure and guidance are especially helpful. This is why the journal pages from Grace is Overrated are a new favorite of mine.
Many thanks to my sister Sunday for finding this blog and sending me the link!
If you’d like to print out your own journal pages (35 of them!) you can visit Christy’s awesome blog here.

by finding your "happy place" and giving yourself an hour there, whether that's cooking or yoga or doodling or running, I believe we are then better prepared to give our time to all the other people in our lives who need us. <3 L~

I'm so glad you liked the journaling pages. I printed out 2 copies of each of the pages. One for me and one for my friend Becky.

Okay, as someone who has ALWAYS wanted to journal but has always been too lazy to actually do so I'm so excited to try those and see if they help. At the very least they're so adorable I'll want to look at them often enough I'll just start filling them in regularly!

Thank you so much or visiting on my SITS day!
Sounds like your trip was relaxing, well-deserved, and full of introspection. I've been wanting to start some journaling, as well, and am looking forward to checking out those pages you mentioned.
