From my earlier post, you will see that my day was off to a good start. The warm sun rays and coffee. Once the rest of the Fat-n-Sassy crew awoke and required food we headed out to Cuban for lunch. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Cuban food. Chimichurri sauce and that toasted bread almost sends me into…well you can guess. But before we could go to eat we had to go by Budget Car Rental to see if they had found the beloved gray sweatshirt of my husbands. If you know Jack and have seen him in the last 2 years then pretty much 5 days a week you will have seen him in that pullover. So, Jack goes in to talk to the manager to recover the sacred one….first sign that it was not going well is when I saw his arms crossed and then him shaking his head as he spoke to the counter agent. Consequently, he got into the car and sped us around back and then he got out to tell at everyone that “they were thieves” but then backtracked and played the sympathy card and said, ”Do you understand how much this pullover means to me?” Clearly he was losing his mind. As we were driving to Cuban he was trying to tell me that “this is the most versatile piece of clothing that I own.” He then gave me all of the positives that this jacket used to have for him. The quotes are endless…he just told me as I am writing this that he is going through all the stages of grief. First denial, then angry, then sad now he is back to angry sprinkled with dispair. So that is the UGLY part of the day.
The “Bad” part is Jackson’s haircut. It was time for it to be fixed…So, we went and got him a new cut. Now this boy needs some sun!
After the cut and as the sun was going down we went to the sandbar and there were a bunch of HUGE starfish. Caytie and Jack gathered them in a water “nursery” and then we took pictures. The kids raced on the sandbar and I silently thanked God for the life he has given me! I also took the time to take some pictures so Caytie in the pretty lighting and using this neat effect on my camera. Tomorrow is Jackson’s photo shoot so look for those…
