This week I am focused on making my 4th of July menu easy delicious and fuss free! Here are 2 easy desserts that are sure to make your guests fired up!
Firecracker Cookies
2 packages Braum’s Snickerdoodle cookies*
2 containers vanilla frosting
Red/ Blue food coloring
2 packages Pop Rock Candy
Divide the frosting into 3 small bowls. Add drops of red and blue to create red or blue frosting. Spread the frosting onto the cookies. Sprinkle with Pop Rock Candy. Place on a platter and serve.
Cherry and Cream Trifle
1 angel food cake, cubed
2 bags frozen cherries, thawed
1 box instant vanilla pudding, prepared according to package
1 vanilla bean
1 container cool whip
Prepare vanilla pudding according to package instructions. Add one vanilla bean that has been cut in half and the seeds scraped. Place the seeds into the vanilla pudding, stirring well. Refrigerate the pudding for one hour. To prepare the trifle: Use a large glass bowl or trifle bowl. Put a 1/4 of the angel food cubes into the bottom of the bowl. Place a 1/4 of the cherries and then top with vanilla pudding. Spread it evenly over the top and then add a layer of Cool Whip. Repeat. Continue till you finish with whipped topping. Cover with plastic wrap and chill till you are ready to serve.
