Sorry…I just had to add that. I love Ron Burgundy and he loves the Sooners too! Here are two of my go-to recipes for the big game on Saturday!
Crimson and Cream Cookies
1 box red velvet cake mix
6 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
1/4 cup sour cream
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Nielsen Massey chocolate extract
1 egg
cream cheese frosting
sprinkles
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl beat together the cake mix, softened butter, sour cream, cocoa powder, chocolate extract and egg till a dough forms. Using a cookie scoop place cookies on the baking sheet and cook for 8-10 minutes. Cool thoroughly and then frost with cream cheese frosting and decorate.
1 package thin sliced ribeye steak (found in the freezer section)
1 package King Hawaiian dinner rolls
12 sliced provolone cheese
1 green pepper, sliced thin
1 onion, cut into thin slices
1 red/yellow pepper, cut into strips
2 cups sliced mushrooms, roughly chopped
1 tablespoon seasoning salt
1 stick unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
salt and pepper
olive oil
In a large saute pan heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil at medium heat and cook the peppers, onion and mushrooms till they are golden brown. While the veggies are cooking cut the ribeye into thin strips and saute in a seperate pan with seasoning salt till lightly browned. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise and place the bottom 1/2 of the rolls in a 9×13 pan. Using tongs, place equal amounts of meat on the rolls and continue with the sauteed onions and peppers. Put a slice of provolone cheese over the each of the veggies and top with the other half of the roll. Melt the butter with the garlic powder in the microwave. Pour the melted butter over the sandwiches and then sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. or until melted and toasted.
