What lady does not love to watch the jewelry commercials and dream? Well, no need to dream because I am so excited to share with you a new line of jewelry I am IN LOVE WITH. My friends at Mitchell’s Jewelry introduced me to Sara Blaine! Wow! This line is so gorgeous with its colorful semi-precious gems and classic design. It has something for every gal you can name. Large and flashy all the way to small yet colorful. Best part is that Sara Blaine’s average cost is $250. Not too bad when you are talking vibrant semi precious gems!
Here are the pieces I am wearing today…..Can you see a pattern? This girl loves blue.
In honor of all things with gems and shimmery….I have an incredible cookie bar that is just the thing a girl should nibble on while wearing her gems!

- In a stand mixer or food processor, cream together the butter and sugar. Add in eggs one at a time making sure to mix completely and wiping down the sides. Add in flour one cup at a time. Mixing till a ball is formed. Remove from bowl and turn out onto a floured surface. Knead with 1/4 cup flour until dough is firm and no longer sticky. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan. Poke with a fork all over. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
- Caramel:
- In a medium sized bowl empty the cans of dulce de leche. Heat in microwave for 3 minutes or until warm. Add in vanilla paste stirring till well combined. Pour over COOLed shortbread. Spread over shortbread till it is completely covered. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Chocolate Topping:
- In a medium sized bowl melt chocolates in microwave on medium heat. Stirring every 30 seconds till melted. Add in vegetable oil and stir to combine. Spread chocolate over the caramel and return to the refrigerate for 30 minutes or until chocolate is set up.

My favorite gemstone would be the sapphire, because it reminds me of my grandma who passed in 2004. Not just an ordinary blue sapphire however but I have a ring that is a pink sapphire. My grandma always loved the color pink she told us when she passed she wanted a white casket with pink roses. I have a ring I wear everyday and have since then that I look at everyday as a reminder of my grandma. Pink has been a color that reminds me of her presence in my life still. It may sound silly but I have visited her grave before and taken a picture and somehow the way the light shined in the picture, it looked as if a pink halo surrounded her grave. The sapphire is also both mine and my grandmothers birthstone so it has even more importance to me in my life.

Amethyst is my favortie gem stone. Love purple and it’s my birthstone.

My favorite gem stone is the opal…. not my birthstone but as a young girl I received
a floating opal (as a birthday / Christmas gift) I absolutely loved it, but in changing clothes for gym one day I apparently pulled the necklace loose and didn’t realize it.. never found it 🙁
I love all the different colors available in an opal and it seems that every time you look at the same opal, the colors change in it. 🙂

Tonda says
My favorite gem is the emerald. It is my daughter’s birthstone and mine as well. She is a true gift from God, as we were told we couldn’t & then shouldn’t have children due to health issues. I found out that I was pregenant with her and a month later found out that my Father had terminal cancer. She gave him great hope to fight to see his only grandchild. Her name is Hope and he named her and he lived to see her for three months of her life. Hope is a true blessing in our lives and such a wonderful gift from God. So you see, there is no other choice for me but the emerald.
Barbara Howard says
I love color so it would have to be the aqua marine or blue topaz. Color has always been such an important part of my outlook on life. I thank God always for giving me the desire to enjoy color because we are so blessed with color everywhere. I like to wear the color in a bracelet or necklace drop. It makes me feel very much alive.
