Happy Easter everyone! I have to say that this years holiday was great! Some of these holidays seem to take a ton of work…kind of like you are going through the motions but not really “being there.” Well, this year I decided to pare back our festivities and just enjoy each other. The weekend started out with Caytie’s soccer game Saturday (sad loss for the Cheetah’s) and then an OU baseball game. It was hot and the kids had a ball playing on the hills. We came home ate some dinner and then set to decorating our eggs. Of course, I was sucked into buying the Glitter Egg and Foil Egg kits when they all were either too messy of ineffective in the application process. So we proceeded to use our fingers and dyed them eggs in the good old dye kits they have been making forever. They came out great!!! Then the kiddos made a gingerbread bunny house. Usually I buy 2 so their are no fights. But this year, I decided that I was going to make these kids do one together. Hopefully they would overcome the urge to scream and yell at one another. I have to say…they did great. As my husband pointed out ,‘They hardly said a word as they built the bunny house but saved it for Wii American Idol.”
We went to Journey and I loved the message. Who is God to you? That should be easy but frankly we really over think it. My 11 year old really brought that home…we asked him the question and he said, “my friend.” So there it is…try and allow God to come into your life and be a friend. Have a blessed week!
