This is pretty much my everyday existence the minute I drop my son off at school each morning. Workout or not workout. I know all the reasons I should go but sometimes it is so hard to do it. Right now it is the holidays and I am having some really CRAZY days! So, making an excuse not to go seems to keep coming up. But, my one saving grace is that I have friends stalking and calling me if I do not go to the Cleveland County YMCA each day. In college I worked there as a camp counselor and let me tell you boy have things changed!
My Cleveland County YMCA is not a stinky rec gym but a beautiful placed filled with endless options for me to do to get fit. They have a state of the art weight room with every machine on the planet, huge pool, 3 basketball courts, indoor walking track, fitness classrooms out the wazoo and that it only the fitness options. What I love the most about being a part of the YMCA is that they are for everyone. If you can’t find something to do then you just are not looking. I started out just thinking I needed an individual membership till I realized my hubby and kids are now inspired to get moving too. I really encourage you to go visit your local YMCA! You will be amazed at the facilities and the services they offer!
Since it is the holidays and we are all about making goodies to share. Remember to try and not be the FOOD DEVIL to those pals you know are really focused on health. That does not mean they want a candle or lotion….Make them my delicious granola! It is easy to make and your friends are going to be bugging you to make it for them forever!

My New Year’s resolutions include many things to help me and my family live a healthier life. Most importantly, I just quit smoking and I want to continue to win this fight and not smoke a single “puff” of a cigarette in 2012. I will also include giving up my second vise….Dr. Pepper. My entire family will be giving this “evil” up! I also want to learn to cook healthier foods for my family. None of us are over-weight but I have learned that unhealthy eating hurts you in alot more ways than just weight. My husband is only 38 and already has high blood pressure and high cholestrol and I know that healthy eating and exercise are his best option for fighting this. And lastly, I will keep my children active and will teach them healthy habits by example.

I need to get healthier and start eating better so i can see my kids graduate and grow into great adults, and to love on my grand-babies. I need to lose 100 pounds but i know i can not do it all at once, but would love to walk in the water at the y and join a few classes. You need to keep us all motivated and maybe this can happen

I have really bad arthritis in both of my knees. It is very difficult for me to get around and going in the water is such a relief to my pain. I really need to get into the water and strengthen the muscles in my legs and to take off some weight. In the past, we have really enjoyed taking classes, just using the pool, and exercising at the Y. Even though money is extremely tight, we need to find a way to exercise in the new year.
