God is listening!

Just in case you did not hear… This mama was selected as a winner of the Real Women of Philadelphia competition hosted by Paula Deen! The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind. But now that I have some quiet time I am trying to process what this all means…the answer is easy!

GOD ANSWERS YOUR PRAYERS. I do not want this to be preachy. But if you do not believe that God listens to your prayers then I am living proof.

Here is my story.
 
This Spring I was overcome with an inner drive to figure out what in the world am I going to do with my love of cooking. I had an overwhelming “push” that kept telling my inner self to “do” something with food. So, the 1st thing I thought of was open a restaurant. I ordered 3 books from Amazon about how to open/manage a shop. It was about then that at Reflect bible study I asked my group to please pray for me to get some direction from the Big Guy! Within a week or so after that I was researching recipes on Paula’s site: www.pauladeen.com when I came across this contest. I thought to myself…ok, they want cream cheese recipes and a video. I can do this..after all, cream cheese is practically a food group at my house! So, I set up the tripod and started video taping myself.

Now this is when all of this gets a little weird. We went to Pei Wei for lunch with Jackson when I got my fortune cookie and it said this:

 I looked at both Jack’s and said, “Maybe this is about my contest.” They laughed but I put it in my car visor next to the garage opener. Throughout the contest I would look at it and think…hmmm.

Well the rest is history. God quietly whispered and then he gave me the billboard! So, if you ever question that he is not there. He is. He listens and he will answer. Now, I am not saying we will always like the answer but he does answer.

The secret to this whole story is that I gave it up 100% to the Big Boss and he answered me!
