Back to School time presents tons of things to do. One of the most daunting and the easiest to fall back into the hectic routine last year is breakfast. How do I prepare breakfast for my tribe? Well, the #1 rule is that it has to be portable! I am not June Cleaver and do not cook to order breakfasts in the am. I do, however, make things ahead of time! That way they can be defrosted and warmed in the microwave.
This year, I found these dandy pouches on Amazon that make freezing protein drinks for on the go breakfast a snap! Just make ahead, freeze and then place in the fridge before you go to bed the night before you want to use….Voila…slushy shakes ready for the ride to school in the morning!
Here is my recipe for the yummiest Chunky Monkey Shakes that are delicious and good for your family!
Chunky Monkey Protein Shakes
2 bananas
2 cup milk or almond milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder, (I like Arbonne)
1 cup Greek vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons chocolate chunks
2 tabespoons peanut butter powder
2 cups ice
Place all of the ingredients in the blender. Mix on high high till it is smooth. Pour carefully into your pouches 2/3 of the way full. Seal and place the pouches in the freezer.
Makes 4-5 pouches
