OK…It has been 7 days of no butter, flour, sugar or bacon fat. Yep. I am still alive. I never thought I could do this but I have done it. I have not wasted away but I am happy to report that my jeans are lossy goosey. So that makes me happy. I started walking and doing the treadmill today so now it is serious. In the past 7 days, I have learned a lot about myself. I am powerful, willful and determined to be the boss of my body. No more shortcuts. I must take as good a care of myself as I do my children, pets and hubby. So with all of that said…here are 2 of my new “go to” items when making a dinner.
Chicken Broth vs Chicken Stock
When you go to the store you will see both of these right next to one another. But do you really know what they are? Well, broth is seasoned. It typically has lots and lots of salt. Even flavors. Stock is just veggies and the chicken which has been cooked down to a broth. Less salt and is perfect for a cooking base. Here is my easy chicken stock recipe that I make every time I have a rotisserie chicken.
