Wow….
This has been a BIG week of me being crafty, creative and cooking. I can’t seem to rest. My mind is going a mile a minute and I just keep thinking of more things to make, or do, or cook so I can film. It is kind of a manic feeling to be completely honest. I was in Hobby Lobby today buying tulle for Caytie’s Sooner Theatre class costumes when I became fixated on the fact that they must “shimmer and pop” when we look at them on stage. Sure enough I asked enough questions and played with enough fabric that I figured it out. So, I ran home from picking up the kids from school and made a tutu. Have to say it turned out pretty cute.
The beginning of the week I was faced with having to actually film myself cooking the 1st entry in The Real Women of Philadelphia cooking competition. This weeks entry had to be a side dish so I decided to cook my family’s favorite Steakhouse Creamed Spinach. So, I got everything ready, got the shot setup on a tripod, and then asked Big Jack (my hubby) to help me. That meant press start and stop. Instead, he decided to grab the tripod and move it around like he was filming a Grand Canyon documentary. What I did not mention is that I am trying to wean myself off of Effexor. (been taking a year and see no reason to be on it anymore…) So, I just quit cold turkey and filming day was day 3 of my wean…All I can say that at the moment Jack started to go rogue with the camera I LOST IT!! Best part is that a) it is all caught on tape and b) he responded with kindness. So, I am going to attach the uncensored “directors cut” of my cooking video. It is kind of like Paula Deen with touches of Sharon Osbourne. I am not proud but it is funny….
Tonight, we went on a bike ride and as we were cleaning up the yard here came a fluffy floppy eared dog. It is clearly still a puppy..more like a teenager. I am calling it because I did not really look that hard to figure out if it was a boy or girl…So lets call it Bunny. Bunny hung around till dark…we walked it all around the neighborhood hoping someone would come and say Bunny was theirs. But no luck. After the walk Ms. B was thirsty and of course I had to offer bacon. I used to give Kitty (my lab who passed away 2 years ago) bacon to train her to be gentle around food and kids. She loved it…So while we were sitting on the porch and Big Jack kept telling me not to get attached she jumps up on the bench and snuggles up to Jack. After Kitty died I swore that we were “cat people” and would not get another but tonights experience may be changing things. On a sad note, we came in and Bunny hung around in the front yard for a while but has now gone to look for her home. I have to say I secretly hope it comes back. Then I know she needs us!
So, this weekend we will be dying eggs and making a ginger bunny house. Passing on my crafting curse to the next generation! I will post pictures from Easter later…The perfect location will be my neighbors yard which looks like an Easter Paradise. My yard is still brown and twiggy from my weeping willow tree. Next year I think Jack needs to get their “green team” over to our yard!
