Best Turkey Burger Ever
2 pounds ground turkey meat
1 green apple, peeled and diced
1/2 Vidalia onion, diced
2 ribs celery, diced
olive oil
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 jalapeño, diced (optional)
1/4 cup Major Grey Chutney
1 package King Hawaiian Hamburger Buns
Lettuce, Tomato and Red Onion
In a medium saucepan sauté the apple, onion and celery with a drizzle of olive oil till tender. Remove sautéed veggies and apple and pour them into a medium sized bowl. Allow this to cool. Add the ground turkey, chutney, garlic salt, pepper, and jalapeño. Mix together with your hands and then form into 6 patties. BIG TIP: Place patties in the fridge for at least a couple of hours to set up. Or they will fall apart on your grill. Grill till cooked through and serve on King Hawaiian hamburger buns.
Bacon Onion and Cheddar Stuffed BBQ Burgers
3 pounds 80-85% lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
4 tablespoon barbecue sauce
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 onion, finely diced
6 slices thick cut bacon, thinly sliced
hamburger buns
lettuce
tomato
In a large bowl mix together the ground beef, seasoning salt, black pepper, and barbecue sauce. Using a 1/4 measuring cup, measure out 12 balls of hamburger meat. Then make thin patties and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Put the hamburger patties in the refrigerator and allow to chill at least an hour. In a skillet over medium heat cook the onion and bacon till the bacon is crisp and the onions are caramelized. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Then place equal amounts of the onion and bacon mixture in the center of 6 patties. Then top the onion mixture with equal amounts of cheddar cheese. Use the remaining 6 patties as the “top” to the stuffed burgers. Seal the edges well and cook on a hot grill till the juices run clear. Baste with additional bbq sauce and serve on a bun with lettuce and tomato..
