When things get busy around here sometimes I say “Gang, time to get things back to neutral!” Well, it has been one of those weeks. Halloween, an amazing giveaway, end of the year middle school football banquet (congratulations to my sweet son Jack for being named All Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year!) and then just life! I know if I am feeling exhausted then the rest of the crew is probably feeling the same! So instead of fretting over dinner many times we go out. Luckily, less than 2 miles away is one of our favorite spots, Louie’s Grill and Bar!
It is one of those places that the entire family can go to eat and find something they love. Louie’s has 11 locations in the metro Oklahoma City area, Tulsa, and Wichita, Ks. Best part is that all of Louie’s dishes are under $9.99! So, we can all fill up on delicious comfort food and not worry about the dishes. All of the meals I have had there are delicious and they spare no expense on the ingredients. Just taste their Ranch dressing and you will be a believer! I promise the rest of the meal will be equally as amazing!
So, when I am stuck in the house I make my own version of Louie’s Gobble Gobble Sandwich! Not as good as their’s but works when I am in a pinch and the kids are too crabby to leave the house!
Mama’s Gobbler Sandwich (inspired by Louie’s Gobble Gobble)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or use a Silpat baking sheet. In a large bowl, completely melt the butter and Crisco in the microwave until liquefied. Using an electric mixer, combine sugars and butter mixture in bowl and mix well. On medium speed, mix in eggs until completely incorporated. Add vanilla to sugar mixture.

Went to the Louie’s site and printed out the menu. Even tho my niece works at the Brookhaven location, I have not been out there nearly enough! The onion burger looks fantastic……. thanks again!
