A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of returning to Savannah to shoot some cooking videos for Kraft with the other Real Women of Philadelphia. It was an amazing trip!
I have to say I love the South. It is quickly turning into one of my most favorite spots in the US. Everyone here is so polite, gracious and loving. No matter where I go it feels like coming home. People go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and happy and who on earth doesn’t love that?!
On our last night in town we had the pleasure of being treated to dinner by our representative from Kraft Foods after a long day of shooting videos.
We had the most wonderful dinner of traditional Southern and Cajun cuisines. Almost everyone in the group got variations of shrimp and grits. Who would have known there were so many different types?! I had the salmon and grits. This dish was the epitome of comfort food and it was just what the Dr. ordered for this worn out mama.
In honor of my amazing week I will share an amazing shrimp and grits recipe I got while staying here in Savannah. Why not show your friends or family a little bit of food love by feeding them a big bowl of warm shrimp and grits sometime soon?
