Tonight I had the pleasure of taking my son to a OKC Thunder game. If you know anything about me you know that I am NOT a sports fan. I am a fan of my kids sports but that means I go to all the practices and all the games. I am the mom who coordinates the uniforms and gets the snack schedules passed out. I am NOT the mom who yells at their kids during the game or criticizes the officials on their calls. Committing to a night of basketball seemed a little yucky but I am trying to do things with Jackson to show him that I am interested in his interests. So, what do 10 year old little boys like? Sports.
To get the evening started I got some great advice from a good girlfriend who has 3 boys, Don’t bring the Kindle. That means that I must watch and participate in the game. So, Jack and I first found possibly the most expensive parking spot in the area ($20) and walked a very short distance, now that was nice, into the Ford Center. We conveniently walked in next to a area allowing us to make signs for the game. Now, that was appealing. Who does not like to make crafts during pre-game? Well this mama does. So, we stood there and made us a sign!
Now that we had crafts out of the way the next obvious thing to do was EAT. So, we perused the eating options to decide upon a chicken finger basket, nachos, hot dog and 2 sodas in a souvenir cup. We headed to our seats and proceeded to have a meal of champions! I do not know what that super yellow stuff they call cheese is? But I love it. It is so so yummy! Ok..sorry back to telling you about the game…Our seats were fantastic thanks to our friend Jeff! In fact, Jackson loved them! You see…this is what was shaking right in front of our seats….
After the game ended, Jackson told me loved our night together. He said I take a LOT better pictures than his Dad. He requested that I please send the pics to his Itouch so he could remember our special night. I hope he loves his mother that much but somehow I think he would like to look at her!
